Hi Peeps,

I did this mod a few months back but have been mad busy with work so this is the 1st break I've had and opportunity to share. I have had my Gen 1 for 6 months and was really keen to get cruiser pegs for motorway munching, but all of the options were just either pig shit ugly or massively expensive, so I decided to make my own.

I simply copied the design of a product which is being sold in the US currently for around $50 and should I have wanted them I would have paid around $60 for postage and then would have had to pay out for pegs too. So rather costly.

I ordered some 55mm anodised stand off bar (black) and fashioned the mounting plate from some 6mm aluminium sheet that I had lying about which I then had powder coated in satin black to match. The pegs I already had were a set of rear gen 1 pillion pegs.

I'm happy with them and they do the job :) All in they cost be around £45.

Our solution costs a bit more but will actually help protect the engine somewhat.

OR, for a cheaper option we also experimented using an extra set of front peg mounts with some longer bolts.

Damn, all those options look great.
I bought the brackets on eBay at the original posted mentioned, and then added some Kuryakyn pegs.
*turned the brackets so they point slightly forward to get the pegs as far forward as possible;
