Miscellaneous

All modern upgrades have been done to this V-max including: Spin on oil filter adapter with passive cooling action (better than stock 96 an UP), 2001 front end 43mm with R1 brakes. No cheesy pre 93 40 mm forks. No scary 85? -92? double piston calipers on front end or rear. This bike has incredible stopping power and with only one front and one rear brake. All metal surfaces have been given a durable powder coat finish to protect against corrosion and the elements, road dirt and bugs wipe right off with a dry paper towel only.

- Through the chopping process I have reduced the weight of this motorcycle by over 120 lbs.

- No stock fenders front or rear
- No center stand springs or mounts (if you ever remove this from your bike weigh it, you will be surprised just how much it weighs)
- 18 Lbs. exhaust over stock 70 lbs.
- Stock controls removed ( these are heavier than Exactrep forward controls)
- Stock complete handlebar riser setup removed
- Stock headlight removed
- Single front disc brake
- Spin on oil filter adapter
- Single R1 rear brake setup
- Clear water pump cover
- Ultra-Light weight battery
- Rear rim is the lighter weight version 85?- 86? still as strong but more inside material removed (I have weighed these as well and in this rebuilding process have shipped 3 V-max rims through EBay).
- I could go on and on?..

- All fluids recently changed oil, final drive oil, brake and clutch fluid and engine coolant (pinkish red to match bike). Less than 100 miles on new oil filter.

- Everything that has been replaced on this bike was done so with new dust seals, bearings, oil seals, washers, nuts and bolts.

- Nothing on this bike leaks any fluids.
- Bike is 100% street legal in Florida with all turn signals and lights. In other states I don?t know maybe you might have to add a front fender and some mirrors that?s all. (they are listed on EBay for sale all the time and Exactrep has some really interesting after market ones for sale on their web site, or do like I do and ride without one, that?s what the $100 stainless steel wrap-around radiator cover is for). Maybe some mirrors.
- Brand new tires front and rear.
- Everything on the bike has brand new upgraded, sealed bearings
- Due to changes nothing about this bikes lets you know it is a 1990 except the title, all Yamaha factory upgrades have been made including: spin on oil filter, upgraded brakes, 43mm forks etc.
- All work done by ?Scotty too hotty? @ RTM performance
- It starts every time I stick the key in the ignition. I change the oil every 1000 miles with Yama Lube. I have never used synthetic oil in this bike. This bike has absolutely no issues at all and most people, who see it, while they are covering their ears, ask me if it is brand new. Second gear is strong and has zero problems.

- Bike has never been down, crashed rebuilt or damaged. The bike has never been raced or abused. Bike is garage kept always and is never out in the rain.
- I purchased this bike in June of 05? for $2900 with 33,733 miles on it. The new digital dash has about 600 miles and it was installed during this transformation. The bottom end of the motor has remained untouched, but my mechanic tells me that the half shell bearings on the crank and piston rings may not be a problem until well after 130,000 miles and beyond as long as I take good care of the bike. I have a friend here in Tampa with an 86? V-max with over 111,000 original miles on the motor and still runs like new. I also have a friend with a Honda Gold Wing, who tries to keep up with me, with over 200,000 original miles no rebuild, it?s all in how you take care of your machine. I have had the top end of the motor rebuilt as part of the make over on my bike. Heads have been ported & polished new valves stem seals and all proper adjustments have been made, new valve cover gaskets and rubber o- rings. Japanese bikes run forever we all know that.
- When I first got this bike it ran very strong (I believe due to good maintenance) it made 116 hp on the dyno.
- After head work, jet coated kerker 4 into 1 with 2 ? exit baffle, stage one jetting, Brand new K&N air filter, carb sync and clean, ZBoost, NGK wires and Plugs, Barnett Spring Clutch with Carbon Fiber Plates and a fresh oil change the DYNO results are as follows.

- ZBOOST off 110 hp for those times when you need more control and less power at the rear wheel
- ZBOOST 6k 121 hp stock setting we all know?.. hold on tight
- ZBOOST always on 127 hp...hold on

- This is why I went with stage one instead of seven; I wanted to be able to have the power when I wanted it but, also get better gas mileage when I wanted too.

- After reducing the bikes weight and increasing the front fork size, I don?t begin experiencing high speed wobble until 135 mph. Even with the rear bias ply tire.
- I?m sure 17?? rear wheel and/ or braced swing arm would eliminate that problem.
- All fluids recently changed oil, final drive oil, brake and clutch fluid and engine
coolant (pinkish red to match bike). Less than 100 miles on new oil filter and oil.

*****Included ******

This item is very cool for touring; you go right from ride to rolling to hotel room with all your gear. And it gives your passenger a back rest at the same time. $150
- 1 tour master mini touring bag same deal sissy bar mount but smaller for short trips or day trips. $75
- The stock 85?-95? oil filter housing and the perforated oil filter housing bolt
- 4 NGK iridium spark plugs for the bike brand new $50
- A spare set of front pegs for the forward controls $50
- A brand new Chrome motorcycle brake disc lock with 2 keys $60
- Book to the digital speedometer
- Brand new battery tender
- Clean Florida title to the Bike in my name transferable immediately to you the purchaser.
- 3 keys to the bike that all work in the ignition, gas cap and faux tank lock.
- Also a spare rear differential that has been cleaned and prepped by me for shipping to John fuber for the RM Sport Max rear royal star gear swap.
- A huge box of spare parts including the original driver controls, spare radiator fan, old frame brace, spare front steel brake line, lots of spare bolts, nuts and hardware and two brand new spin on oil filters.

- All of the over $17,300 worth of receipts, service records, modifications and paper work for everything that has been done to this motorcycle.

I have tried to include everything I have done to my V-max and tried to keep good paper work records of everything as well but, I bet with all I have done I have left one or two things out as far as Mods.
The bike is in excellent shape and runs like a new Vmax but isn?t flawless for being 16 years old it is pretty close. There is some paint fading on the motor block and front brake master cylinder. The rear crud catcher has some little marks on the bottom, from road stones. ( again see pictures)

This bike is a daily driver the minute I give you the keys. It?s fast enough to make girls pee on your passenger seat. It?s a radical power cruiser which I built to be just that a super fast yet comfortable cruiser that looks really unique and sharp. I didn't attempt to build a drag bike or V-max crotch rocket like some people do. Of course you could by this bike and do that to it and in many ways you are well on your way (removal of the passenger rear grab bar for supplement with stock one is very easy). I also wanted my bike to look like a V-max when it was completed because I like the way the V-max looks, that?s why I bought it. I didn?t want to turn it into a spaceship with all those after market plastic body pieces.
This bike was built to be comfortable for myself and my wife on medium range cruises with luggage but also to be fast, fun and agile when ridden by only me. I also reduced weight in order to achieve better gas mileage. I?am 5? 10?? and this is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned, out of the 14 I have owned so far in my life. The combination of the UFO star fighter seat, the forward controls and the drag bars mounted on 5 ? ?? risers, makes this bike a joy to ride even on long distances. This bike is better than stock and ready to ride.

This V-max is practically brand new with over $20,000 invested:
$1000 2002 Front end with progressive fork springs
$2600 Powder coating
$4500 customizing/machining/re-covering
$8400 Parts/aftermarket/custom one-offs
$750 of free extras included (extra final drive, helmets, locks, battery tender etc.)

$1800 Yamaha OEM parts
* Money values next to parts do not include what I handed out for sales tax and shipping*

Asking $9000.00.

Please give me your ideas and feedback, thanks a lot....:eusa_dance:

Sounds incrediable..can't wait to see pics

congrats on the little one on the way...

WOW, no wonder the boss wants it sold. Never imagined that it's possible to sink that much money into a bike. Just my opinion but you might get more if you sell it for parts. Guess the wife doesn't want you to have to decide between bling or formula. Whatever happens with the bike, congrats with the newest member of the family.:laundry: :peace out bike:

I don't know if I missed it somewhere in the post, but what year is the bike?

well its a 1990, frame and motor
but with the spin on oil filter, 43 mm forks, and 4 pot calipers etc. ... its current..actually I say better than current. :eusa_dance:

Yes thanks so much, I appreciate it although it was quite easy (wink , wink). I thought about parting it out, but you must consider this. I am in love with my max, I don't want to ever sell it, I was considering buying a glass case for it, very seriously, I even have the space for it. I don't want to disassemble it ...disassemble=death. I want someone to enjoy her as much as I did. These bikes are the best in my opinion , the perfect combination of power and comfort( when done correctly). No cruiser or crotch rocket compares. I spent because I cared, it was more like nursing a sick child back to health than rebuilding a machine.

From the way you read, you should definitely hang on to your creation and find another way around the finances. Taking out a small loan would be cheaper than loosing what you invested in the bike. There just has to be a better/another alternative. ???

I wouldn't sell it either, that's way too much love you put into your VMax. I'd get two more jobs if I had to.
And I don't care how happy a woman made me. If she were to tell me the Max goes or I go. Without hesitation, my response would be, BYE BITCH. LMAO!

M.J., you would probably make a lot more money if you parted it out.

My god what a mission though and who has that kinda time..all that mailing, packaging...etc..i'll be posting some pics really soon check back..

So, you guys think I should ditch the chick and keep the bike. I love you guys. :clapping:

Just as a thought, I know friends and other acquantances who sold their rides, at the urging of their wife/girlfriend, and never got a bike again so they can't ride. It seems harder to get a bike again after you are forced to give it up then it is to fight and keep it. If money is an issue, you can get pretty good coin if you sell all the OEM parts you have taken off your bike. Just my :twocents: .

anyone know how to post pics here without them already being posted on the internet. In other words, posting them from my pictures on my computer? As soon as I'm told how I will post Pics

Okay I was able to do this because its on ebay for auction.

Its more than just money though, its also time and space to store it properly, also the need for a larger car to accomodate my growing family.
