Does my Vboot work fine?

Hi guys!! I am a happy lover of my Vmax 2003. I have recently had a complete Vboot Kit Japan and in very good condition. The sensations are almost sexual !! I have only been with this kit for a week and either I have already lost my fear or something is not working correctly, I explain.
Just installed the kit, when turning on the key, the two-step movement of the servo is perfectly heard. The first day, while standing still, I even looked out of the carburetors while accelerating and I could perfectly see the shooter as it went up and down at the rate of the revolutions, that if, after 6000 approx.
Well, today I went out with her and I accelerated and I no longer had that fear from the beginning, it even seemed to me that it was not as aggressive as the first day. When I got home, and without stopping the bike, I accelerated again looking at the side of the carburettors and curiously, I did not see movement in the servo cable puller .... I immediately stopped the motorcycle and turned the key to see if the checkserevo was done ... and Yes !! the check is perfectly visible from the right side of the carburettors (a very small window) ... then I have revved up decisively and my surprise has been that I do not see the movement of the shooter as if I saw it the first day ... Do you know where I can look? Is it possible that the yellow wire is not sending the signal to the Vboot ECU? Is it normal that the handle does not move in the hot and stopped position around 6000-8000 I don't know whether to look at it myself or take it back to the mechanic who installed the Kit .... Did you make me a cable? ... By the way, sorry for my English

Congratulations on your purchase, your enthusiasm is appreciated. As to your English, you are doing well, and no apology needed. Where do you live/where is the bike?

I think since you hear the servo motor cycle upon powering-on the ignition with the key, you might want to ensure that the cable is still connected.

Salamis anteva is a butterfly in Madagascar. Are you by the Indian Ocean?

Jiminy Cricket. My reaction above says it all. You should be a case study...just not sure what the study would be. ;)

Indian Ocean....??? Hopefully !! I often travel to those latitudes but no, my residence is the south of Spain.

When you say make sure the cable is connected ... which cable do you mean? In the Start sequence, I perfectly see the movement of the Vboot shooter ... first upwards and then downwards ... The funny thing is that when standing still, I no longer see it as the first day, that on the side accelerating above 6000 rose and fell smoothly to the beat of 6000-8000 ... now it remains still with the same acceleration ... I suspect the signal of the tachometer.

It is as simple as looking at the side of your motorcycle .... accelerate and look ... Does it move you?

Pepito Grillo. Mi reacción anterior lo dice todo. Debería ser un caso de estudio ... pero no estoy seguro de cuál sería el estudio. ;)

You have to understand our resident triage specialist - he is wont to add obscure (and often fascinating) bits of trivia into his many, many postings helping folks with problems.

I'd be inclined to agree with him on this one. Sounds like the electronics are working. Now you might want to confirm the mechanical aspect. The cycling sound tells you the self-test is good. If there's no change in performance, the servo does connect WITH A CABLE to the butterflies in the intake crossover. As Fire-Medic has suggested, it is quite possible that connection has come loose. All the more suspect if it was recently installed.

Maybe I should bring it to the workshop to check again, it is not possible that it has stopped impressing me in just 5 days ... or maybe it has. Perhaps the cable has come loose from the link to the butterflies, but I find it curious to see the square-shaped plastic piece go up and down ... if the cable were loose ... would it make sense to see this piece move? And why not think about the tachometer signal? Tomorrow I will look before the workshop ...

I mean this piece .... it goes up and down starting perfectly with in the video

There's still a cable from the junction you show above that actuates the butterflies. Not sure, but I suppose it is possible for self-test to complete and still leave an unterminated signal coming from the coil (yes it originates at one of the coils}, but the same signal drives both the tachometer and the Vboost controller. If your tach is working, it's unlikely to be that signal. Again, I'm not a Vmax expert, but have had a few. I think FM hit the nail on the head...

Maybe everything is working and I've just gotten used to it. Could you give me some advice on how to check if vboot is open ... because accelerating accelerates a lot, a lot ... but I no longer have the surprise of a few days ago !! Is there anything I can do to check its operation?

One way to test is to disconnect the circular plug and go for a ride, then reconnect and do same ride and compare notes.

The circular plug connects to the servo motor.

Interesting ..... I know where that connector is. It would take 5 minutes to remove it ... it's just what I plan to do !!! Thanks!!

Something to-do, to impress what we call 'the peanut gallery,' (onlookers at gatherings) is to remove the left airscoop, exposing the round VBoost servo motor electrical connector, and have someone turn-on the ignition key. When the VBoost opens, unplug the connector before the VBoost closes. It will remain open. Replace the scoop, and start the bike. The idle will now sound like a small-block (small engine displacement) Chevy V8 equipped with a performance cam. Lumpety-lumpety-lumpety... . It make peoples' heads-turn, when you slowly-idle through the parking lot.

Even the Harley-Davidson crowd looks, and listens. They can't help it.

You can also take it for a ride maybe 2nd ,3rd hold it steady at 6000 to 6200 rpm you will feel it starting to open!

Everything checked !! My Vboot works perfectly, different tests carried out when removing the servo connector as well as the ignition disconnecting just at the moment of the open throttles ... ALL OK Which tells me that the problem is only mine ... I always want MORE, get used to that acceleration it was too easy ... I will have to visit my doctor

Buy a GEN2. I doubt you’d ever get used to that!

(Compra un Gen2. ¡Dudo que alguna vez te acostumbres a eso!)

Well...I have the same problem. I was told it has to be without a doubt no questions asked...the carburetors. That was the consensus when I asked. Plenty of power everywhere else, feels flat on the Vboost. I pulled spark plugs, RF plug was fouled, all others beautiful golden tan color. Even when tearing the carbs apart, the consensus here was carbs are jacked. So....keeping in line with the story I was told....your carbs are jacked.
