Has anyone tried this tire? If I'm reading the description correctly, I don't think it will work as I think it's for a 7" rim. Is that right? Now I'm really confused! Those are 17" wheels with the slicks. Where did you get the wheel? True slicks is what I want!
I've got both. Including a slick on the stock 18" (may not have a picture though).
What slick do you have on the 18? Do you mean you sell the 17 wheels? I would like to get a true, flat slick. I have a spare wheel if I can find a tire for the 18.
Not sure if you are speaking of a Gen 2? I know a couple of guys that have or had 17" front and back wheels on Gen 2's. Not sure about the tires?
So, that tire fits ok without any clearance issues on the shaft? I can't tell how close it is in the pic.
Does anyone know if any other Yamaha shaft drive wheels will mount directly to the Vmax hub? Sure would be nice to be able to swap a 17 on there for drags!
There is no direct swap though a guy in Europe has adapted an FJR wheel (not sure on year and mods required).
The slick clears fine with the shaft cover removed (same process you would do for a 240 tire).

Thanks for the info! Is it Kainzinger that did the FJR swap? I know he used to mod gen 1 Vmaxes. I was concerned about the width of that tire since it says +/- 1" and it's a 7" tire on a 5" rim. Good to know it will work!
