Hello,
I will like to order a OEM cap silencer for my Vmax 1700 2009 from partzilla.com.
Please look at picture on partzilla. I never see a cap silencer like this picture on a Vmax?
Please help because I don't get help from partzilla part support.
And what are the different on part 2S3-14787-00-00 and 2S3-14787-01-00?

Regards,
Kjell

Picture 1 is the same I have.
Picture 2 I never see before.

Kjell, I would not be surprised if the darker one had been airbrush altered/enhanced. AFAIK, 2009-2018 all came with the silver caps, 2019 and later they were black but still the same size and shape.

I have a bad scratch on one of mine. Parking lot drop. But for $135 I'll live with it.

I think there are some aftermarket ends I've seen in pics. Maybe someone can send a couple of links.

It looks like the 2S3-14787-00-00 part number has been superseded by part number 2S3-14787-01-00 and is, in all likelihood, the same end cap and the one shown in picture 1.

In 2018, when the bike went to the 'blacked-out' color scheme, the part number looks to have changed to 2S3-14787-11-00 and is probably the black one pictured above.

Jerry, why not see if you can sand out the scratch and have it PC'ed or 'rattle can' it...I'd guess you could find a pretty close match and you'd be out some time and $50 tops if you PC them.

I also think part number 2S3-14787-01-00 is exactly the same part as my bike was delivered with in 2009.
But picture on Partzilla look so different.
At picture from partzilla it looks like part marked as 1 & 2 are 2 different parts installed together.
My mark number 3 look like a shadow all the way around.
That's why I am confused if I shall order or not.
Have anybody see a end cap like the one on this picture?
Or is it wrong picture?
I think when you see this picture in full image you can see what I mean;-)

My bike have only a small scratch after the last owner touch the door when he was moving bike in to his garage..
Price in USA for 138§ is cheap because in Norway it's over 300euros and I want ny bike look like it`s new.

I've thought about that. Always kind of gets bumped.

I repaired mine using this aluminium body filler. It is VERY tough to sand but it’s much harder than regular filler and very heat tolerant too. It comes out a silvery colour. I decided to paint both of mine that matte silver colour that I’ve seen on the tip of lots of newer bike exhaust. I’m happy with the result.

I order the cap silencer from Partzilla because they was cheapest.
I received it 2 weeks ago.
Can confirm that the cap silencer I received was exactly the same part as my old part.
Picture from Partzilla are wrong and I hope they change it because it make people confused.
New part was more glossy, but after I use my Rupes polish machine on the left side cap both look as new.
I use fine and ultra fine Rupes pads on it;-)
