I want to use a UFO Twinstar muffler I had on my Hindle 4-1. The Twinstar will not clamp on the Hindle tightly, leaving a gap. I was also going to weld a tab on for the spring, it would be secure, but still wouldn't be a snug fit.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance. 20200414_083817.jpg 20200414_083851.jpg 20200412_204608.jpg

Take the inside pipe to a good muffler shop and have them expand the tubing to snug-fit the megaphone. Use a barrel-bolt SS exhaust clamp. Be sure to support the megaphone with a strut to somewhere on the frame, weld on a mounting tab to the megaphone if none is there now. Place it halfway back to 2/3 back.

Alternative: have the same shop give you a collar which fits the header tubing and the gap, and slip it onto the header pipe. Then slip over that collar the megaphone. Just bring the megaphone and header pipe, and tell 'em what you're trying to-do.

Example of expanded tube to fit the Kerker muffler. Alternatively you could just cut down some thin metal and use it as a shim to wrap all the way around the pipe and fit the muffler and clamp on that. The spring retaining point would also be a good safety measure.

Sorry but I do not. You could probably use thick stainless weld rod and form it into a u shape and weld it on.
