Filters for the carb vent hoses?

I feel like the four vent hoses coming from the carbs would have a tendency to bring in lots of dirt and debris into the fuel bowls.. has anyone tried any filters on those hoses? I heard if there not correctly place on the airbox they can cause your bike to run like crap.. so I imagine restricting them might cause the same problem.
