unfortunately, i broke my leg two weeks after getting my vmax at xmass, and its been a long road to full recovery. during this time ,i have made a few upgrades to the bike, Hyperpro progressive springs, stainless steel hoses all-round,XJR1300 rear shocks, full service and a few cosmetic touches.
was running a bit off on idle, but i tried the ''shotgun'' method a couple of times, and everything seems to be ok at the moment.
first couple of miles were a bit daunting, hoping that all the upgrades were ok, but after that, i loved every second of it.20230318_151819.jpg20230513_141145.jpg20230527_160716.jpg20230528_141037.jpg20230528_145507.jpg20230528_145525.jpg

You don't see many V-Max's with brow over the headlight.

Yamaha also had a stripe kit, and a louvered chrome surround over the taillight lens, besides the ever-popular passenger padded backrest, its luggage rack, and the case-saver nerf bars.

The 1 I have an the tri-bar nose bullet is for a car I modded to fit the stock housing. Anybody wanting to try an cover that boat lite tail light. Is just adding a focal point to something that doesn't flow with a V-max. In my opinion, but opinions R like Assholes.

Not a Yamaha option, but here's a rare paint option available on Hondas in the 1970's. This is a CB350.

Hydro-dipping is now a well-known technique, back then, not so-much. However, it is very distinctive, and its rarity on a Honda of that era makes those bikes command a huge premium. Beware of imposters/forgeries!

In keeping with Honda's Japanese roots, the paint option was called the "Flying Dragon" paint. It was available as a dealer-ordered option. Different colors were available.

This sold for a cool $11K at Mecum-Las Vegas in 2020. A CL350 Scrambler.

As you can see, the package was the gas tank and the two side covers.

Choose your color!

I once visited Arlen Ness's shop in San Leandro CA and he had some wild paint on his bikes. I have pictures, but they're on paper, Kodacolor prints. Yes a long time ago. BTW, did you know, Kodak invented digital photography?

How many of us got our start or once owned a CB/CL77 (305 Superhawk/Scrambler), CB/CL/SL 350, or one of the smaller or larger brothers?

headlight visor has actually gone now. my commute to work is a late shift, and coming home, i have to do 22 miles down country roads in the middle of nowhere, at night. i was knocked off my XV1100 Virago but a massive deer last year, and the road is always full of dead foxes, badgers and deer. i found the headlight to be extremely poor, so hence the upgrade from EXACTREP.
also ,the XJR shocks blew out last week, but i had a hunch they were copies. seal blew on one side, and the other was rubbing on the caliper bolt, which i didn't see until i removed them.20230603_170045.jpg20230605_103809.jpgFB_IMG_1685960791464.jpg
