I installed Progressive springs awhile ago and tried to reuse the old seals well they leaked.:bang head: So I tore the forks back a part and installed new oil and seals went for a ride and one seal is leaking the only thing I can think of is I didn't use a seal installer. The one on Sean's video seemed perfect but I can't find the right size pvc pipe so I found this on the internet. What do you think and has anyone tried this? It seems like it would work. Thanks.

I took a piece or either 2 or 2.5" PVC pipe (can remember for sure) and cut some 5-6" long cuts length-wise to create "fingers". Then I use a HD zip-tie snugged to collapse or expand the fingers for different fork tube sizes. Done several sets of different fork sizes with no problems. I did have to get an actual seal driver for my Gsxr's USD forks though.

I'm wondering if a tool like this might help: http://sealmate.net/
I've read that you can construct a effective tool that works like the sealmate out of some old 35mm film strips, just have ot cut to look like the tool to pull debris or straighten out the seal.

I think this will work other wise I'll try the tape method. The seal mate tool looks like it might be worth it if it saves replacing a seal at $17.00. Thanks guys.

The pvc pipe trick worked great took 10 min. to make and no leaks this time. Getting pretty fast at tearing the front end of bike apart.:rofl_200:
