I was doing some maintenance to my "new-to-me" 2013 Vmax and there was Dynojet Power Commander V and Dynojet Autotune installed, I thought that bike was bone stock. What might be the purpose of these boxes, and what kind of advantage they are meant to give? I noticed that somebody have removed the funnel from air box, behind the air filter.. Other than that I believe bike is in stock order.

I also found out that bike has Speedohealer already installed, I was about to order that because speedo is off quite a bit. Maybe it just isn't programmed right.. Kinda cool findings, or are they?

If you don't have a pipe on the bike then the Power Commander is not of much use.

If you have no pipe on the bike I'd be a little suspicious that there was one on the bike at one point and then maybe it was removed. sometimes people return the bike to stock when they go to sell it, although it would be strange to leave the power commander stuff behind because it has value.

The other thing I'd be a little concerned about would be that there could be a map in the Power Commander right now for pipe, which would be deleterious to the way the bike runs since it has the stock exhaust. it would be very unusual for someone to add a power commander and auto-tune to a stock bike.

Is it easier to tune with Powercommander compared to reflashing original ECU? I thought that these bikes need only reflash, why install Powercommander.. Well, now I'm sure I want some slipons, maybe Akrapovic (I like the looks) but to decat or not, that's the question.
