They do look nice, I've been looking at the 03, 04 models. Not a real big fan of forward controls. I like the hair on my leg. My wife has a v star 1100, she loves the bike, but hates the exhaust being so close to her leg. Another plus, the v rod doesn't really sound like a Harley. Atleast the one I heard didn't. Seeing the prices of the first gen max around my area, another g, to $500 could get you a vrod. Average for a first gen around here $3,500 to $4,500. V rod seem to be around the $5,000 mark. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one. I'm no way a Harley guy, but it's one I'd own lol.
 
It's got a lot to like. Nice wheels, USD forks, probably the best HD engine available,F.I. and decent power too. Very strange angle for the rear shocks though. No harm in a test ride, if I get a chance.
