help! How do you remove the blank bolt with no grooves at upper triple trees.

Hi,

I was just about to tear down my forks but then i saw this:

How am I supposed to remove this kind of bolt? The service manual shows a regular allen bolt...

I bet it's got a little cap pressed into it. Pry it out with something thin and you should be good to go.

yes it's just a cap. It can be removed pretty easy with a small screwdriver. I had them on the back where my sissy bar was.

Yes, it's only a chrome plated allen head bolt insert - for sprucing up the looks a bit. Sold cheap, many sizes, all over Ebay, and not only in chrome, but various other colors as well. I have some blue ones on my Gen II that are printed with the Yamaha tuning forks.
