Is there a way to save videos like that to your hard drive? Or is all you can do is to save the link and keep running it from the You Tube site?

If you use Firefox, there's a plugin called VideoDownloadHelper that will allow you to save youtube videos, then convert them to a standard format. It works fairly well, but for whatever reason sometimes fails to convert them, leaving you with a flash movie (.flv) that most players won't recognize.

I use Chrome on mac and file2hd.com works fine (works with safari too).
Just copy the youtube url and paste it on file2hd, serch movies and download the high quality link.
