It is a lot of work ! It helps to know people who will donate auction items their time etc. I would think you could get someone from the foundation to help you.
I have done lots of benefits you need to find a place that will let you hold an event at their location which is usually not to hard. Once you find a place you need to get a date .
A lot of it depends on how much work you want to do & what kind of event you want a poker run , Dinner , game night etc. I will say you can spend tons of time running around getting people to donate auction items . Auctions usually do pretty good at benefits & if you can get people to donate food BBQ ect & sell food plates that helps out also 50/50 drawings usually do good.
