just passing the message. don't shoot me. if you use an android device or have a google account (gmail, use google calendar, etc) and wish to retain as much cyberspace anonymity as is still possible in this day and age, then you may have interest in the following link: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/320137

Tech News Daily reports that once Google's new unified privacy policy takes effect all data already collected about you, including search queries, sites visited, age, gender and location will be gathered and assigned to your online identity represented by your Gmail and YouTube accounts. After the policy takes effect you are not allowed to opt out without abandoning Google altogether.

I went into account settings and "removed web history permanently". Is that all I need to do?

Thanks alot!!! Didn't realize this. I passed the word around

i could see how this would bother some people i guess, but i dunno, i honestly don't care. it doesn't bother me if google knows what sites i've visited, if i wanted to do it under the radar i'd just sign out , use a different browser, proxy, whatever. catering search results has 99/100 helped me find what i'm looking for, and the sites i visit are all normal stuff. i dunno,. just my opinion i guess.
