I have the replacement shock bushings from Progressive. I have tried to press them into the shocks to no avail. What is the trick that I am missing? I am using a socket as a bushing driver, but as I press the bushing it expands rather than sliding into the shock mount. Do I have to shave them down to get them to press in?

The original bushings seem to be rubber and came out easily. The new ones seem to be neoprene.

I'm very frustrated at the moment - I figured this would be a 20-minute job.

I used a bolt with large washer on each end slid through the bushing and shock hole with nut and tightened with a ratchet till it pulled through. Pretty easy once I figured it out.

Try this.....put the bushing into the freezer for a couple of hours....and either use a torch to heat where the bushing goes into....or put the shock into the oven at 350 for 30-45 mins to allow it to get hot and expand.
