Waaaaaalll my 89 V Max still has its original OEM windshield and fittings and that part dont match anything on mine.

When I bought my '07, you could still buy the factory windscreen kit from Yamaha for 75 dollars. I didn't buy it because I thought it made the bike look bad.

So not long ago a buddy of mine and I went riding and he has the windscreen. He swopped with me for a bit and I was really surprised at how much smoother that little windscreen made the ride. I was honestly impressed.

So then I figured I'd go ahead and pick one up.

Nope. Not anymore I wont. Should have bought the thing when I bought the bike, but nooooooooooooooooo.

Look at the GIVI screen, a similar shape, similar function/benefit, probably still available.
