2.Yesterday I spent about 1 hour digging thru jello (see pic) of 96 Mitsu Eclipse ECM. I checked 5 transistors, only one of them could possibly work (???) but it had 5 pins and one of them I broke off.
It was very hot and I didn't want to check other cars.
3.Today I paid $113 shipped for new igniter from Minnesota, ebay.
2. Without looking up the data sheets, I would go as ar as saying none of those would work. I looked through a number of data sheets and the ST901T is unusual in not having the flyback diode.
3. Is the replacement unit for the Vmax? I would expect the ignition timing to vary between different engines. If it is not Vmax unit, then one of three things will happen
a. Engine runs better than originally (unlikely as the engineers at yamaha put many hours into optimising the timing)
b. Runs the same
c. Runs worse, perhaps giving issues such as lack of power or overheating potentially wrecking the engine.
