Dario Franchitti injured when a driver loses control in-front of him, and Dario demolishes his car. He is OK, injured back & ankle. going to be out for awhile. It happened at the race's end.

That's for sure, but those part are part of the safety systems. The open wheel cars shed the part to dissipate energy while cockpit has a fighter jet style "cocoon" to protect the driver. As a fan of F1 I've watched many drivers walk away from some horrendous wrecks, quite the opposite from the early days of the sport when we lost too many drivers.
On another note, F1 is changing the engine setup next year to turbocharged V-6's. It should be interesting to see how this pans out, hopefully Ferrari can build a car that will compete with the RedBull Renault's and the wunderkind Vettle.
