Hello all,
So on my last ride I felt like there was an abnormally loud ticking/knocking. It seems to be coming from the fuel pump.
My first question: What is the standard/normal sound behavior of the fuel pump at 1. Key-On and 2. after Ignition?
Basically I would like to confirm whether what I hear is a problem or it isn't a problem. Here below is what I expect and what I actually get in the two situations. Attached are the audio files.
1 - At Key-On:
What I expect: fuel pump to tick approx ~10 times, with the volume fading out and even with a slightly increasing time between ticks.
What I get now: fuel pump ticks between 32 and 40 times, with same time space between ticks
2 - After ignition:
What I expect: I should not hear the fuel pump
What I get now: I hear the fuel pump in the midst of the engine sounds at idle
