You one of those that still has that little squeaky sounding thing they call a horn? Would you like to really put some authoritative sound on your beast? I bought a set of Stebel TM80/2 Magnum twin horns that scream at a whopping 139db. and have a really nice twin tone. They sound like horns on a big car like Lincoln, Caddy etc. DO NOT blow them in your garage. They come in chrome and black and I chose the black pair.

There are many places one could mount these but right out in the open is where I like mine and since the speedo is so lonely up there I placed them next to it. This is just my version and it works great for me. Had a couple of those spark grounders that snap onto a spark plug on a lawn mower and ground one side off so the other side could rest where the bolt will hold it. These brackets are hard and won't take a lot of bending but have what the horns need, vibration/flex. When both horns were mounted, they had some shake to them (left and right) while on a rougher road or over bumps. Solved that problem with a piece of rubber hose that is cut just to the right length and rests on the tach. There should be some give in that direction but not so much that the horns don't look solid while riding. Did this after almost getting run over by a soccer mom with kids in the SUV and the phone stuck in her ear. Guarantied to be heard within several blocks and they have a good sound to boot.

Jesus they're big! Any trouble with rain or dirt getting in them? I'm wondering where else they could be mounted?

Mike, just caught your subject line...nice. Maybe put Viagra stickers on your horns? :)

Big is a relative term. Perhaps chrome horns would blend in better. If you don't like their looks you could mount them on your helmet, like ears.:rofl_200:

If you have a chin spoiler you could always mount them inside it.

That'll be where I mount my set when they get here. Unless I can come up with something better.

Like your idea mate but not sure if I want to copy it lol.

I have an air horn on mine, its not quite as big as the one you chose, but its really really loud.......when I went to get my bike inspected, I told the guy it was loud before I honked it, but he still about jumped out of his skin....lol

pic..thats it on the crash bar...

Man I have the same one but did not install it yet, I also thought of mounting it at the engine guard but think I can make some space behind the headlight, I am going to install a vrod headlight and it might leave enough room behind it for the horn?

Just for you Mark I added two more pics so you can get a better idea of the size. They blend in well with the lights and their location is best for being heard and keeping them clean. This is just another idea for those interested in changing their stock setup.

Thanks. I would need to find a different place as I have a flyscreen that would probably be in the way. I have dual fiamm horns at the stock location. Dual tone, louder than stock. Someday, I'll make a horn relay setup to get more dB.

These things look like a kids bicycle horns:)))) to put it politely.
very bulky and cluttering piece of machinery from all angles, yet beautifully ugly.I rather have no horn and just shout at people or use the brakes.
But hey beauty is in the eyes of the beholder if they still can see in front of them.
It is a case of the "naked emperor".

or, WOW that is a beautifully placed horns set, they add bling , if you don't mind I'll copy this from you and put it on all my other bikes but I have one concern, thieves will find it so attractive and my insurance premium will go up through the roof or even higher and will interfer with the space station.

OR,
This should give everybody a good indication of just how vindictive and childish this person is. He claims to have made so many mods himself, but has yet to show a single one. Only HE has good taste and knows all. So much spite.

To me if something is ugly I say it is ugly, whats the big fuss about?
be politically correct or say the truth, I remember when I was taking other people opinions on headlights and real men said " the busa headlight is butt ugly" I didn't cry like a 2 years old, in fact I took the advice after actually seeing a busa unit and decided they are right it IS butt ugly.
in fact I prefer -ve comments about my mods, I weigh them and see if they have merits.
to have everyone say yeah it looks great just to be politically correct is kinda sick. this is also true in life, I will never follow as a dumass.
woman tend to want to hear they are beautiful even if they are ugly but as a man if someone has this GAY attitude I'll nail him every time and pee on his parade!

I do use the bike daily so working on it and doing mods is a very slow process for me since the bike is not parked all winter to gut things out and install mods.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. If you don't like the look of it, then just say that, but don't make a big mockery of it. :twocents:

I have an opinion too and will voice it. Those that criticize the effort and taste of others are doing it for jealousy because they themselves can't do squat. Nobody is interested in your damn politically correct crap. Your taste is of NO concern to anyone but yourself, so quit telling others what you think. If you had any smarts, you would realize that you are not gifted in anything except throwing stones at others. Get a life and quit acting so juvenile.

These modifications are NOT for you, they are for the owner of the bike. Only a real ASS would tell someone they have lousy taste. Who the hell do you think you are? There are those on here that are not sour grapes and are looking to help themselves by the other's ideas. They CAN make their own mods (which you can't) and complementing someone for his effort and the willingness to try has nothing to do with being politically correct. You have to be one hell of a LONER with your attitude and to think that I felt sorry for you at one time makes me cringe.

You snoop around a lot on the Net, read up on what taste means because you have absolutely NO idea.

Nobody makes ugly things, only ugly people see ugly things.
