Lowering a 2014 Gen 2

Just purchased a mint 2014 Vmax to safely gaurd my 1999 Vmax. Since I'm vertically challenged I had lowered my Gen 1 years ago with Progressive rear shocks. I need to lower my 2014 and just purchased the Voodoo 2 inch lowering link with a shorty kickstand, but the instructions are a bit "intimidating" for a guy that does not have a drop thru lift for the rear swing arm. Is there an easier way to install the lowering link than what the instructions detail? Need some help. Thanks.
