This discussion took place in another thread, but there was just too much "good stuff" regarding, in particular, needles and seats to let it molder there unloved. So that it might benefit someone besides those who happen upon an errant project thread, here's a link to a page where the discussion heats up:

Regarding Needles and Seats

Lloyd Bochner did an excellent job in the episode. Enjoyed him in the original Battle Star Galactica as Commandant Leiter.

He was an intense actor in his roles, you just knew, like Dirty Harry, it was gonna hit the fan. His schtick was:

cowboys
cops
robbers
lawyers
soldiers

His career followed the growth of television as an entertainment medium. In the early days, Hollywood movie actors looked-down on actors making a living on the little screen. Then the numbers of people watching surpassed those attending movies, and the medium was in nearly every house, every day. Lloyd Bochner as a character actor had lots of work fulfilling those roles, and yes, he played Hamlet, too, in 1955, when soon shows like Kraft Theater and Omnibus would bring many of those who would become famous actors and actresses to popular public attention.
