Hi,
I an in Sydney Australia and am a Mechanical Engineer with a trade background.
I have had a black 96 VMax since 2014 and am the 3rd owner.
A few upgrades done before me are:

Running 98 petrol only.
Sissy bar back rest and custom carry rack.
Genuine fly screen
It had a steering damper at some stage but it was missing when I bought it.

I have done the following to it since:
heavy duty rectifier
heavy duty starter clutch 6 lobe.
Heavy duty AMG sealed battery.
Heavy duty 4 pole starter motor.
Heavy duty alernator
Heavy duty radiator
Heavy duty starting solenoid 130 Amp from an Aprilia RSV.
Battery current circuit breaker and isolation.
Heavy starter circuitry
Led light globes in standard fittings for indicators and brake/tail light.
HID headlight
Giva larger flyscreen windshield
Lower faring with 2 LED daytime running lights
AM seat covers
rear seat section hinged for easy access.
Leather hard panniers
9 channel data logger. Fitted telemetry:

Standard exhaust mods

Underslung XJ1300 rear brake assembly.
Silicon radiator hoses
Front forks rebuilt, straightened re-chromed and ground to size new seals and wippers. Gatters fitted to protect the exposed chrome on the forks.
Carbon ignition leads.

That about it.

Many mods to do:
Ignitech race 3 ignition and a bunch of new upgrades.
Some exhaust mods to the standard headers and mid chamber to improve flow and reduce back pressure.
Mods to the air intake with pre-separators ram air boost and cooling.

Yes that's a lot of additions. I'm sure that we would be interested in some additional info on your work to do these mods.

'Front forks rebuilt, straightened re-chromed and ground to size'

Please quote the $$ for doing this. I'd think that unless you had a, 'in' with someone's business doing this work, it would be cheaper to buy new downtubes from Race Tech or Forking by Frank, both of whom I've done business with before. I see you're Down Under

Yes Sydney.
The fork work was manage by my repair shop "The Bike Smith" at Blacktown when having the forks rebuilt as the chrome had stone chip damage and was tearing the new seals and wippers. Yes new forks would have been around the same price.
Most new forks are not 100% straight due to their manufacturing process as they are just chrome platted tube. However the forks were straightened, old chrome ground off, nickel plated then hard chromed and ground to size. so will not chip easily. However I fitted gatters to prevent stone chips again anyway.
