Thanks for letting me join you guys officially! Ive been stalking the forum for years, lol. I've got an 88 Vmax that has unfortunately been sitting for several years since a non-Vmax wreck. Just got it sort of running yesterday, Looking forward to having it back on the road!
 
Welcome, there are many threads on here about getting a bike operational again. You may have seen them before. The 1985-'89 VMax has a different ignition box w/5 wires from the box, the brakes are single-opposed piston, the forks are 40mm downtubes. Use the factory shop manual found on here to guide you in your repairs. There are color schematics of the '85-'89 wire diagram too, just use the search function, and then save them in your favorites, or download them.
