I bought a 2005 VMAX at the start of September. It has been a learning experience, my other bike is a VStar 1100, a tank. I have taken 3 longer trips, the last one was down the Columbia Gorge to Portland and then back. On the interstate between Moses Lake & Spokane I found out the bikes’ happy speed 140 kph. It was kind warm in Portland & their lights are long, do I learned about overheating and starting the bike. Its been a blast. I think the fuel economy is better at 140 than it is at 100.
