I was looking around at thunder and I came up with some Ideas,I spent today in the garage and mocked up some Gen II highway bars, heres a "spy foto" . It looks like my plan is going to work pretty slick, Im going to get some prints made up and hit up a few machinists over the next couple weeks. I like to try to get a gauge on how much interest there may be in a nice clean set of HWB's, NOT CRASH BARS,or FRAME SLIDERS in fact these have been designed to bend or break in case of accident to prevent damage .

Ok, so it took me a way long time :bang head: but I finnally have a machined set of GEN II HWB's:biglaugh:, They will be called the MAXRELAXER's:clapping: and IMHO they work GREAT.:punk:

I will be sending a set to my beta tester in the next week or so and will look forward to his opinions

They were not cheap to have machined:bang head:, but Im hoping that there will be enough interest to bring the cost down enough for me to have a run of ten sets made.( if not there will be only two sets )

Simple one bolt installation, with full adjustablity within a four inch radius(up,down, closer or further away)

Please feel free to ask questions or make comments, and since I have been warned against" advertising" the on the starmax forum, tell your GEN II friends to come over here and take a look.

Rick.... they look FANTASTIC !! :clapping:
A very nice, clean, sharp looking design that fits the Gen2 perfectly.
I am sooooo 100% in for one of these MaxRelaxers !!! You did real good Rick !! Sign me up !! :punk:

Any details on whether they come coated / uncoated ? Is there a particular footpeg set that is recommended to use with the MaxRelaxer ?

Hi
I'm interested in the relaxers also, but have same questions as Jeff and then a few more
Is it bolted solid on the front of engine? or one end slipped over the other on the center of the two sides? and can I see a picture from further back with more of total bike and looks as a whole?

thanks
John

The front is a slip fit into the tabs as shown in the pic, the strut is held by on bolt,it will take longer to get them adjusted to your liking then it will to install them.

The shaft has a shoulder on it to prevent it from going in to far into the tab, but will allow it to pull out under impact, as you can see from the pics the meat of the brackets are kept within the width of the motor. there is also a pic of me on the bike..............but the pegs are adjustable : higher ,lower,or closer by turning the 2 inch link up , down or towards you , then locking the jam nut to hold it there.

I find myself wanting to get into the right gear just so I can get my legs up and more comfy.

Rick has come up with a very effective and smart looking highway bar system for the Gen2.

Went on a 1.5 cruise using them and NO leg / hip aches at all. Before the MaxRelaxer, I was hurting after 20 - 30 minutes of riding cause there was no other place to put your feet; and I had the Corbin rider peg lowering plate installed too. Would have to stand on the pegs to stretch out or stop and walk around if it got too bad; typically after an hour of continious riding. I'm sold on it !

With my MaxRelaxer, I'm using a set of black Rivco anti-vibration pegs ( about $57 ) that look and feel great (they sell a chrome set about $10 less too). If there aren't your style, there's tons of different peg options out there. Just wanted to give you my initial assessment of the MaxRelaxer. Heading out for a 3 hr ride tomorrow with it !! Rick's spot on when he jokingly said " you want to quickly shift thru the gears so you can stretch / rest your feet on the MaxRelaxer to throughly enjoy the ride!
