Hi Guys so today was the big day i finally picked up my 93 V max.
After getting home and inspecting it a bit deeper i saw 2 issues that i need some advice on please!

First one is the ohlin spring seems to be damaged on the bottom part rubbing the bolt sticking out of the frame.

and second question is the rear tire is a brand new dunlop170/60 zr 18 on a custom rim, it seems to rub against the kardan.
The person i bought it from said that the dealer told him its no problem as he always uses this dunlop tire.

I would get needed clearances however you can, safely. You do not want your suspension to collapse.

The washer swap on the rear axle might get you enough tire clearance, look here for info on how to do it.

Maybe swap the OEM hex bolt for a round head allen shouldered bolt to get clearance on the shock.

It looks like you need a fair bit of additional clearance.

Washers top and bottom of the mount may well move the top too far off the shoulder so you are limited there.
An alternative would be a partially threaded low head socket head, or a combination of both.

If that is an OE swinging arm then as Mr Medic has suggested the 'washer swap' may give sufficient clearance (see attachment).
If not you will need to notch the arm.

I would venture to guess that you need spacers which should have come with the shocks as Progressives do. I had Ohlins for awhile but while looking cool, did not make my 2001 handle noticeably better than a new set of not expensive Progressives. Sold them. To run a wheel/tire combo that wide, you will need to notch it. The washer on axle fix is meant to fit a 170 tire. Notching is not relatively expensive and you could take the opportunity to brace it as well which adds to the WOW factor.

Hey, did you get these figured out? I think it would be good if you can share how these were fixed.
