Post 9/11: Commercial Airlines are being set up this way too. In case of Dangerous Hi-Jackings, the planes can be dealt with via ground control.

The only real advantage I can see with this is the fact that you do not actually need a pilot for this, but some kid on the ground with an Xbox controller. That could save money, and free up pilots for other flight jobs, such as actual combat.

Also, the training aspect could make it so the remotely controlled plane is even more formidable than one with an intelligent meatbag in the seat. These planes are capable of maintaining a constant 9g turn under certain circumstances, and are capable of pulling off things which would cause most pilots to pass out. Now, if you dont have the 180lb steak with a brain in there to suffer through the turns, there are no limits on what the plane can do, other than structual limits from the plane itself.

This is an idea 1,000,000,000 times better than the Fail-35!
