On the plastic piece that fits on the needle, there is a small little tit that fits into the slide. When you do anything with the needles, you have to rotate the needle, until that nipple falls into place on the slide.

Everyso often, i will tend to break the nipple off of the plastic piece. I have always replaced the nipple, with a whole new plastic piece.

What would be the consequences of putting the plastic piece back on the needle, and running it without that little nipple? The spring above the needle would still keep it pushed down onto the slide.....so I dont know what the reason for the nipple is?

Thanks
Eric

Agreed. Not sure the specific reason from an engineering standpoint but it works fine with a missing/broken nipple.

Thanks guys for the info.....everytime I saw one with a broken nipple....I would just replace the entire doughnut (plastic) piece.

Plastic is so 1970s. Everything is latex latex latex. Ask my friend Miley.
