R/R brown wire??

I have just worked out my '85 has had a different R/R fitted to it.
Specifically, an RZ350 one!

It has an extra wire - a brown one. From what I can tell it's to sense voltage. Can it just be connected to the red wire?

No, hook it to a switched circuit. Run it to the ignition fuse wire.

I thought someone had stuffed up because it was connected to the brown wire in the rear brake light switch. But now if I look at that, it would be the same.

I have to re-make the R/R harness coz it's burnt on all the terminals. Now I know what to do. Sort of.
