I usually spray them with regular spray can. Its just a thin film that does not affect its performance.

On my new aftermarket rad, I painted it with VHT brake caliper paint and it turned out great.

Rad was bare aluminum when I got it, so just had to paint it than baked it in the
bar-b-q at 200 degrees for 2 hours.
