My old fuel pump went - click,click,click,click,click :(
New fuel pump goes Brrrr,r,r,r :)

If you've looked for a replacement Gen1 fuel pump recently (Sept 2022) then you'll most certainly have seen this beastie on fleabay & the like. This one cost me £23.

Says if for VMX12... etc but clearly all wrong. Well only partly - the pipes are wrong & so's the bracket But the pump is actually the same. Mine arrived with the correct electrical connector (& full of petrol to keep things from drying out). The good news is all you have to do is swap out the wrong bits for the right bits from your old pump. No mods needed & can be swapped back if necessary.

1st here's what's inside (old pump).
The points (cabled end):
