Hi,

I'm in the process of lowering my bike, so i bought some steering head bearings to. But is there any actual benefit of replacing the steering head bearings when the one currently in are fine?

Thanks!

My benefit was that I could actually take a corner without the bike falling into it. My bearings were shot and needed replacing so it was a no brainer for me. As for you, you will have the front end apart already, you have the parts on hand, IMHO I would go ahead and replace them. I read somewhere on this forum that if I want to coat the triple trees then i should leave the old steering head bearings on so that the holes don't get the coating. If that's true then i might as well wait until after it's been coated :) Thanks!
