replacing steering head bearings benefits?

Hi,

I'm in the process of lowering my bike, so i bought some steering head bearings to. But is there any actual benefit of replacing the steering head bearings when the one currently in are fine?

Just piece of mind. If your forks are already out it dont take that much longer to do. At the least k would go ahead and remove the triple and grease them up good.

My benefit was that I could actually take a corner without the bike falling into it. My bearings were shot and needed replacing so it was a no brainer for me. As for you, you will have the front end apart already, you have the parts on hand, IMHO I would go ahead and replace them.

I read somewhere on this forum that if I want to coat the triple trees then i should leave the old steering head bearings on so that the holes don't get the coating. If that's true then i might as well wait until after it's been coated Thanks!
