running open headers

so i havent done anything yet...
but ive seen a few videos and pics of vmaxes running open header. or shorty dumps and love it. will it run ok if i saw them off and stick on a set of dumps?

Like any exhaust mod, you probably need to re-jet.

That's gonna be loud lol. I tried few miles with a just 4-2-1 header and that was something lol

You'll lose some power with no backpressure but it will run and sound Nasty!

I drove a few Miles with Stock Jetting and Open Headers, when I had the Stock Exhaust off to Install my SuperTrapps.
It was Insanely loud and pretty rich smelling.
I couldn't tell much difference powerwise but I only went 15-20 miles but I'm sure that I lost power due to the lack of back pressure as stated above (and proven by the Dynos with Cobra Slipons which are essentially straight pipes).

If you just take a hacksaw to then then as Sean suggests, you will more likely loose power.
However, if the pipes are of the correct length then you may actually gain some.
