Hi all!

Okay, being the dolt that I sometimes am, I ruined (I mean, REALLY ruined) the rubber bushings at the bottoms of my Progressive rear shocks.

I am wondering if any of you know a way I can make my own or, failing that, who might make a strong replacement for those bushings.

Thanks very much!

Or does anyone have the bushings from a trashed spring maybe?
I have a bad Progressive spring I was just gonna throw out. Is there an easy way to press out the old one? Or do you just want the old spring?
PM me

I pressed some out with a bench vise and appropriate sized sockets, but it wasn't easy and it was the easiest part....pressing them back in another shock seemed almost impossible as the rubber had expanded, or relaxed or something.

Ended up getting a replacement set from Progressive.

Does Progressive actually sell the rubber pieces, and if so, where did you get them from?

Thanks.

Couldnt you freeze the bushings...and put the shocks into the oven to warm them...not cook, anf then press the bushings in better? Freezing the bushings would make them shrink, and also toughen up the rubber to make it easier to press in?

I would also look into a shock spring removal tool, makes the job safe and easy.
Here is a link to one: http://www.amazon.com/Progressive-Suspension-Shock-Spring-Compressor/dp/B002OQ7WG8

I found this Race Tech shock bushing driver set while looking around:

I also saw this: http://www.playmorpower.com/Progres...ER-detail.htm?productId=9484109&ez=Suspension ;amp; Forks Suspension Tools~q=fidaa114zztidaa3366zz~r=~&pos=14

Yes they do, think I went directly to the Progressive site and may have emailed them with what I wanted.....can't remember for sure, sorry.

That sounds like it might work, worth a try anyhow.
