I've used micronic oil filters on my dirt bike and they work pretty good.

Scotts makes them as well and they are great but I still use a Mobil 1 on my Max and OEM Suzuki on my SV.
Scotts isn't chrome. It's billet and it could be painted black if you wanted to.

Mobil 1 M110 is a great filter according to tests I've seen.
As for chrome?
a 16oz can drink can with the bottom cut out will fit over just about any filter that fits the max, you can get pretty creative with it. I've got a NOS energy drink can on mine right now.

Freeze it but not so long it bursts.
That makes it real easy to cut the bottom off with a hacksaw (or serrated knife)
It looks better if it hasn't been opened so that's how I do it.
