Starter clutch removed....polish up face or not?

Got everything apart and have new starter clutch and new bolts and gaskets. Will clean everything real good, got red loctite and torque Wrench at the ready. Should I polish/smooth up the slightly marred surface or leave it alone (where bottom of starter clutch rests)

i would. just clean it up and make sure there arent any burs that would interfere with the operation
