anyone ever think of mounting a single chamber flowmaster off of a 4 to 1 header under the bike where the center stand used to be. i was thinking of trying it to see what it sounds like. i was thinking about an adapter from the header expanded to 2.5 inches then the dual output 2 inch at a rear angle.

any ideas or input?

it is all i run on my trucks and my jeep so i thought i might try it to see...just an idea:ummm:

ok never mind that idea....not enough room unless i put it under my rear seat without the rear fender...which is no a bad idea...maybe later....for now i just want something louder and shorter that i can put on instead of the hindle can so it doesnt look so stupid when i remove the rear fender...anything have anything that would just clip on?

Sean cut down a used Kerker can for me . Definately louder.

You could have the local muffler / machine shop fab one up for you.

I have a carbon fiber can with chrome end cap built for a HMF 4-2 system that really pops .

KJ has a really short 2 pipe with baffles that is really loud , but I don't have a pic of it.

Myself and a couple of others put a IXIL Dual Hyperlow on our bikes. I have a Kerker, another has a Hindle, I don't know what the other bike has.

Up here there is a couple of bikes that have those mufflers from the tuner cars on them. These aren't those, but you'll get an idea.

And here is a forum thread that was talking about car muffs on motorcycles.

I'm not sure what happened but it seems my Marks exhaust is louder this year. I rode 250 miles yesterday and my ears were ringing. I was riding with Harleys with loud pipe (all in front of me, my choice) but I could only hear them when I let off of the throttle. It may have been that it was only my 3rd ride of the season, but my ears took a while to get normal hearing back! Maybe I should have put my ear plugs in! :rofl_200:

Another idea. Doesn't Supertrapp make the car mufflers in a variety of opening sizes ( including 2.5 in)? Not talking about the slip-ons but the universal car 'Trapps.

KJ,

Did that IXIL match up to the Kerker , or did you have to do some fab work ?

I had a coupler stretched on each end to compression fit it to the Kerker.

Yup they do for their car. They also have variable sizes on their universal motorcycle trapps too. I had one at one time (1:13 on the video).

My buddies Gen-1 had a single chamber Flowmaster installed on his Hindle header.
Sounds WICKED!! He had a slash cut tip welded onto the outlet.
I'll try to get more pics later, if you want them.

holy crap that is what i was thinking...just not exactly where i was thinking....is it deep? can you get a recording of it?

He occasionally mounts it back on.
But yes, it's a fairly deep tone, but LOUD.
He now has a D&D carbon fiber can that was on a GSXR-1000. He took the can apart, shortened the carbon sleeve & baffle, then reassembled the shortened can. It also sounds good, but it is a little quieter than the Flowmaster. The next time he mounts up the Flowmaster, I'll try to take my camera and do a short video of it. (but remember, camera vid's audio usually don't sound like the real thing).

i decided to go try to get a black one mounted sideways where my hindle can is now with a turn down....lets see which shops tell me that i am stupid...lol
