What is the size hole on the carb synch hose restrictor? I lost my restrictors and am thinking of getting some brass or copper tubing to fit the hose, soldering one end shut, and then drilling a small hole in the soldered end to make my own. I could experiment, but decided I would just ask. I have a set of EMGO-style analog gauges on a steel panel instead of a fluid one like a Motion Pro. Like these:

Thanks.

I used brass machine screws, with the heads cut off, on my home-made vacuum gauge arrangement.
#10x40tpi for my size of tubing. I put them in the manifold end of the hoses. They are about 1" long . They are a snug fit, so the air is forced to follow the threads before contacting the gauges.
They work really well. Absolutely no flutter, and the gauges take about 5 seconds to zero out after killing the vacuum.
Of course a better fit (less flutter) could be obtained, if needed, just by increasing the length of the screws, or using two.
Cheers!

Great, thanks for the feedback guys, I have no idea what happened to the originals, I just pulled these out & cleaned them up. The set is probably 30 yrs old, bought from JC Whitney 'way-before the world-wide-web.

The only difference between johnplynch's set & mine is that my gauge glasses are not 1-piece molded, they have metal chrome bezels holding the plastic lenses.
