Guys do you think the weather would be good enough to ride through in a couple weeks while going to Daytona ?

I ve been checking the weather, but I didnt think about the high altitude? I ll be riding through on the 13th of this month.

Depends on weather it may be closed. Might have to play it by ear.

It looks doable from this 10 day forecast:

Anywhere above 50 F is definitely rideable IMO.
And the Monthly forecast is calling for 61 F on the 13th:

You could always contact Marcus Hickman (vmax_nc) and ask him what the weather is like closer to the 13th, he lives in the mountains a few hours North of the Dragon.

@ tex,
I seriously doubt there will be an excess of snow if it's really 55-60 F, which would be about the only reason they'd close US 129.
Unless of course they have an unexpected rock or land slide.

@D, its hit and miss this time of year. I didn't look at the weather forecast, I know the shop on the one side isn't normally open full time until April.

Looking forward to bike week next week! Let me know of you want to meet up a week from Friday, I plan on riding up in the morning.

I'm a year behind you in my plans to make it to Daytona. I hope you get clear and warm weather for your Dragon run and the rest of your vacation on your bike! I look forward to your reports from the Tail to the tip of the keys and everything in between! Ride safe!
