Is this right? I cannot find any pic online showing the gasket extending past the front pipes heat shield.

Appreciate it. Okay, any idea why the previous owner threw on that stock exhaust gasket? V&H instructions don't call for it.

Trying to fix a leak? Not a good way to do it. ;)

If it's leaking at all you should take it apart and use a little Permatex copper silicone on the joints.

Figured out why he put those on...clamps are too big. They weren't even close. Completely closed & easily had 1/16 gap. V&H needs to have look at their quality control.

I've heard of V&H making that mistake before.

You can find those "T" bolt clamps all over Ebay and Amazon for about $8.

ShawnD, if you end up buying new clamps, can you share which ones you bought, I'm guessing I will need the same..

Another thought is to call Vance and Hines. They may send clamps at no charge.

Oh and good luck with calling V&H. I called last Monday about a missing exhaust spring, spent 20 minutes on hold. Thought everything went well after taking payment info, address, said they'd email a receipt with shipping info. Had to call a week later only to be told they were extremely busy because they are off today. Said they would probably get it out later this week.

I just checked my clamps. They fit around pipe perfect. The size stamped on the clamps say 59mm. They ones in your picture are stamped 61mm. I should be good.

Good for you. I'm betting your clamps are almost completely closed up. The pipe measures 44mm, not quite 1 3/4". Don't know why they couldn't get closer to target. I also noticed the clamps on the rear cylinder pipes aren't what comes from V&H either so the previous guy had to replace those too. They weren't leaking so what he did with using stock gaskets to take up space worked but they aint pretty.

My clamps look like a nice fit, but I haven't installed them on the bike yet.IMG_20180706_100944461.jpg
