A friend of mine had some camshaft issues fixed. After synching the carbs with a carbtune he noticed a drop in the reading. At 1500rpm he is getting 16 vs 22 before. Bike feels like running on 3 cylinders. Sparks and plugs looks fine.

Any idea? Vaccum leak?

Camshaft issues??

Could the cam timing be out? From that description it is possible.

A tooth out on a cam....buddy replaced the timing belt in his car and messed up, one cam was one tooth off. It started and ran, but didn't really have any power....like you said felt like it was down a cylinder.

You might be right but he's almost sure he was careful with that. But looks like he will have to check again :)

So, the issue can only come from the camshaft and its timing ? no other thing to consider ?
Sounds like we're good to open again lol
