Hey guys, my gas cap dissolved into nothing thanks to some corrosion and age. I took a punt and tried this out of China for $24. It's not touted as being for the VMAX but it fitted perfectly. Did you try fitting your gas cap's lock tumbler mechanism in it?

No, the issue with my lock was the metal broke down due to acids I was using to clean the tank. It wasn't smart but the new cap is 100% better and having two keys is a minor issue.
