I've had a Z28 I've had multiple Mustang GT's. I prefer the Mustang GT. My GMC Canyon was available with a 5.3 L V8 but I got it with the inline 5 aluminum head/aluminum block dual overhead cam Atlas engine 223 cubic inch 242 horsepower 242 foot pounds of torque. It runs fine for me. Remove the speed limiter software and it will do an honest 125 miles an hour with the rear end I have which is a Eaton G80 locker. However valuing my driving privileges I have no need to drive it that fast. For the same reason my Vmax never goes over 65 miles an hour.😉

Im with fm ill take the mustang any day over anything Chevrolet lol i have a 19 f150 with the 3.5 v6 twin turbo almost 400hp stock it runs real good it eats the v8 f150 up all day long and has 70 ftlb more torque then the v8

375 horsepower 470 ft lb torque for a stock v6 is impressive. I mean its twin turbo but its all factory is what im saying

Yes that is impressive the stuff every brand is doing in this day and age is impressive. My truck is not fast it is quick but not what I call fast. The motor is very mild built probably around 400 hp but it weighs a little under 2700 lbs so it does ok. It was never intended to be a race truck just a fun little cruiser

Got the bastards off. Five of six slow jets (Honda’s term for them) were plugged. No wonder it wouldn’t idle. Stinking ethanol. And I need to find an alternative to Stabil. 780C7998-B30A-434F-B623-2833134355E4.jpeg912569F8-3324-47F6-8944-195BB9DE589A.jpegF6ABF008-38E6-4630-95D5-DC5A78EC4F32.jpeg

Should have them back on this weekend if I am successful in clearing them. Will need a battery and… Insurance to be roadworthy (and legal).

I have a CBX also. Red 1979 I bought it maybe close to 10 years ago now. Still starts and runs great. I run the carbs dry every ride. Know exactly where to shut off the gas on my way home.

There is a guy I believe on the west coast that pretty much everyone was using for carb re builds. I'm sure I could find him if needed. He was on the CBX forum. I haven't been on there for years.

Thanks, I should be good. As with the Vmax, the vast majority of issues on these Keihlin carburetors is plugged slow jets. The carbs have all new Viton rubber bits and floats are spot on. I feel good about my prospects.

I'm pretty good mechanically but I don't know if I would want to tackle those carbs

Looks like it would beba bitch getting them off.

lol, yeah, getting them off is more than half the battle. The motor has to be tipped forward or it's not possible. That is a bit of a hassle...

(At the end of the day, they're still "just" carburetors...six of them!)

I do remember looking at the service doc about tilting the motor. I didn't realize that it had to be tilted for carb removal. But not surprised, pretty tight back there.

Last year (winter) I went trough most of my ZRX. It was a barn find. Got it running, now I have to paint the body work - possibly this spring. Here is a before and after.

I picked up a1985 Mazda rx7 project for this winter. It is very clean with only 38k miles on it. Hasn't been driven in 16 years. Got it running and now I just have to go through usual stuff.

Speaking of the ZRX, a couple of my buddies have Zrex's. Ones an 11 and the other is a 12. Both are heavily modified. But, the Vmax holds its own!
