Now that its getting close to get the bikes out, I was just curious to see what everyone is doing for their winter projects.

I got my bike at the end of last year so I am catching the important tweaks first. Cartrige emulators and springs. EBC HH pads and braided lines.
Corbin seat.

Put some paint on the engine, and have been trying to come up with a good finish on the aluminum parts.

I know, not a very thrilling list, but ya gotta start somewhere.

What impressive and exciting projects are you all working on?

Lemme see here is a list of my winter mods from this year:

6" stretched swing arm from Morley Muscle
Artfibras sport tail
Kerker 4-2-1 exhaust system, to be changed to a custom undertail shortly
knee guards
new seat cover from Morley Muscle
blacked out most of the bike:biglaugh:

More mods TBD as the year goes on LOL.

How did you black out your bike?

Did you go with paint or powdercoating or what?

post any pics?

snowmax looks good jim.. i do like the blacked look. didn't know you were making an undertail exhaust, thats gonna be sweet.. looking forward to that.......

so as far as my projects, just finished all the fluid changes n such but as far as projects/non maintenance.

p/c'ed rims, crash bars and side panels
shift light, tinted my flyscreen
put my headlight back to stock
painted headlight bucket, mounting bracket and speedo cover.

Well, put a new front tire on, new brake pads up front, cleaned up my 20 year old electrical harness, red instrument bulbs, black speedo housing fom Dan-o, relay for horn, diode doo-dad for my indicator bulb, and I'm getting ready to add relay to bypass main switch. Also adding anti thief switch and going to get rid of key switch.

Like you I did RT springs and emulators
Upgraded the front brakes to 'busa calipers R1 rotors, SS lines.
Adjusted valves, new valve cover gaskets.
Bunch of new gaskets on oil galley stuff.
New carb,vboost boots.
Rebuilt the slave cylinder.
Adjusted float levels.

Now I need some good weather to ride. It snowed in here in Georgia today.

Just noticed you are in Atlanta. I'm in Mcdonough, about 30 south of you. Nice weather eh?

Vulcan Black powdercoating on:
mirror stems, handlebar clamp, crown, signal lights, crash bars, rotor centers & sissy bar (and prolly some other stuff I forgot about)
Flanders drag bars
Lankee taillight/brake light LED conversion
O/P gauge from COO
belly pan & shortie fender from Exactrep
Progressive rear shocks from Fargo
V4 swingarm pivot caps from Exactrep
stripped and painted mirror heads with black Krylon

Sort of in the same topic:
bought Sal's wrecked '06 max

Honeydo list before spring:
reinstall rotors
mount Shinko's on Sal's '06 wheels and transfer to '99 (if the front isn't bent)
start tearing down '06 for part-out

Wavy rotors w/ new HH pads for back wheel
SS brake and clutch lines
Mark's Performance exhaust in SS with 12" cans
New front Shinko tire
Paint satin black handlebar riser, speedometer bezel, turnsignals
P/C ft footpeg brackets, kickstand, radiator covers, grab bar
Electrical cleanup of grounds, connectors then added headlight relay
Polished Scoops and other aluminum bits
SS bolts to replace stock hex head bolts
replace oil pipe cushion to help prevent "o" ring popping
I have a few more things I may do during the summer but mostly just easy bolt on stuff so as not to interfere with any possible riding time. I know over the last 4 months how precious riding time is and don't want to waste anytime wrenching if I can help it.

this winter .....

- going to repaint im thinking like a lime candy green with black airbrushed skulls.
- yankee is building me a set of triple gauges for the dash, water temp, oil pressure, volt.
- installed 5'' tach with shift light.
- led rear tail light eliminating the reflector.
- drag bars.
- made a license plate braket mouted to swing arm ( bike is chain driven but was not done this winter )
- and hopfully if i get around to it polished scoops
