To try it out, engine off, turn-on ignition with left scoop off. As VBoost cycles open and before it can close, unplug the round VBoost stepper motor plug. This keeps the butterfly pair in the VBoost open, and you can replace the scoop, and ride-around 'bad to the bone.'
If you plan on selling the backrest/homemade luggage rack let me know please.

No problem, I'm considering taking the back rest off and getting a low profile one. The rack is off, but I'll be storing it for now. Do you have a back rest on yours now? You had your starter clutch replaced right? Can I ask how much it cost? I'm considering doing it myself, it looks pretty straightforward to do.

Took the bike out for a 100 km ride last week, it rode great, accelerates like my sport bikes did. Reminds me of my old 86 FXR I had 20 years ago :)
Hey bud, name is Ken i work and live in Mission. Number is 604768 8357 hard to find any max owners around lol.

Awesome, thanks Ken. I just got the bike, haven't had a chance to even ride it yet, hopefully put a permit on it 1 day next week to see what I need to sort on it :)
Is there not many others locally?

Not really,
Sean,

I'm assuming this is Sean Morely? I have heard you work wonders with seat comfort. I am thinking of purchasing a 2007. I'm 5'10. What do you charge for such work, and how long does it take?

Thanks,

Pete

Würdest du die Tasche etwas billiger geben? Können Sie entscheiden, was der Versand nach Deutschland kostet?
just wanted to know if any other riders have trouble with condor dolly sliding on garage floor, and ideas how to fix the problem ?
Hey y’all first post here, but I have a ‘97. A 1200. Heard I can put a fatter tire on the stock rim. Is this true?

Probably up to a 180 without rubbing. Maybe a 190 with the washer swap.

Don't bother wasting time sending a picture of the label, I know you are shipping it, too easy. I already told my friend you are shipping it to him and that it is on its way in a week or so.... Like I said, not in a hurry. Send it the cheapest you can.

Sent the pic to your PM last night and the package should get there tomorrow or day after... 🙋‍♂️

New member with 1998 V MAX for 20 years very reliable till now . All symptoms normal except when shifted out of Neutral engine dies. Looking for schematic of Diode Block.
How ironic that you joined the forum just a few months before me. If you see a '99 Carbon out there starting next week, it will likely be mine - don't steal it or spray paint it pink ;-)

Thanks again for the info.

Oh, and if you want to try meeting for lunch or something the day I drop off or pick up my bike let me know.

Wild, so did whoever you sold it to hang on to it all these years, or did you have to trace it from sale to sale, or do some kind of title search to find the current owner?

I might be back in town Saturday and might try to get my bike in then, otherwise Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Hopefully I can be back riding before the end of the month.

I knew the guy that I had sold it to and ran into him at Target one day and he said it was for sale. Like they say, "The rest is history!"

Oh wow, like one of those "it was meant to be" things. Cool. Got my bike in. Sounds like it'll be 4-5 weeks. Haven't even gotten an estimate from them yet. :-(
I had a mechanic install a new starter clutch on my 85 vmax and they got it from yamaha and it was almost immediately chewed up so they sent it back and got a heavy duty starter clutch from ebay and its doing the same thing but I can still start it. The warmer the engine gets the harder it is to start. Any ideas to fix the issue?
