To those above, Thanks much for the welcome; however delayed it may be :D The bike is on hold for a while whilst I move house. It's fair enough to say, I definitely have my work cut out for me once I get back into it. I've found a number of issues in addition, and contributing to the...

    Photo Request: V-Boost Cable Pulleyassy

Thank you Mr. Midnight, I ended up using a plastic plant pot, cutting out a piece from the bottom and shaping a cover by using a dremel. I also found a piece of metal tubing in the garage that I cut and used a a guide post, attached to the top cable pulley assay screw. Your pic helps reaffirm...

    Photo Request: V-Boost Cable Pulleyassy

Greatly appreciated. I kind of arrived there on my own about an hour ago. I've just finished making the little guide post that comes off of the top cable pulley assay screw. I'm slowly working things out. Finished cleaning rust out of the tank and gunk out of carbs. Putting things back together...

    Photo Request: V-Boost Cable Pulleyassy

I've just made my own snap-on plate, but my primary question is: How tight should the button head (lock bolt) bolt be screwed in? If it is completely tight, then this will not allow for any spring travel. I am guessing at this stage.

    Photo Request: V-Boost Cable Pulleyassy

It appears as though I'm missing the snap-on plastic cover and buttonhead bolt. A color photo of how it should look would be greatly appreciated. This is the first time I've ever had a look, having the bike for a very short time; and, the manual diagram leaves me a little uncertain. TIA

    Sub-harness questions for COPs

The current cables and plugs on the bike are a mix-mash I like the look of the COPs It's slightly cheaper for me to go this route. I can do the complete set-up for less than $150aud, and all the parts to the sub-harness will be new. I make wiring harnesses on a daily basis for operating...

    Sub-harness questions for COPs

Hi all, My bike: 1988 Ok, So, I've just purchased some Denso 129700-4400 ignition coils (COPs), and I'm wanting to make my own sub-harness (seems like the easiest/cheapest way to go for me). I've done quite a few hours reading up on all that I can about this, but I'm looking for a bit of...

1st Gen V-Max Just Bought My First VMAX - 1988

Hi Fire-medic, Thanks very much for taking the time to provide such an informative reply! Yep, I've already downloaded a couple copies of the manual, and I've been scouring through it every evening, along with the forums. I still have quite a bit to go through, I'm sure. Regarding my 'level of...

1st Gen V-Max Just Bought My First VMAX - 1988

Hi all, I've just purchased my first VMAX after eyeball'n them since 1985. It is a 1988 with 53000km that has basically sat in a shed for approximately the last 7 years, and it's been painted orange and gold. I may or may not change the color, it's starting to grow on me :D. Current primary...
