    HD vrod??

It seems to me, they go down in value very quickly, more than any any other Harley. If a person likes one, it seems Ebay always has some low priced ones, not very old. I asked a Harley guy why and he said the water-cooled engine wasn't well received.??

Needing a good used cobra slashtip

Does anyone happen to have decent take offs of the Cobra Slashtip muffler for sale, especially the lower left unit, with good chrome? I think I have blown out the packing or whatever is inside, as it sounds like a straight pipe on the one muffler. Thanks, [email protected]

Praying for your continued recovery. Hopefully, the most painful part of the recovery is past. I would like to ask though, has Prostate Cancer run in the men of your family prior to your occurance?

    Getting cold again...

It's been beautiful light fog, the last 2 weeks as low as 45 for my short commute of 10 miles on nice twisty blacktop, until I hit the last hill facing East before workplace, and the blinding sunrise burns the eyeballs and totally blinds you for the sharp 90 degree turn. But the sunsets in...

    Master Cylinder screws

May I add a suggestion for those who love thrill rides and let a leaking clutch sit all Winter and just start it up every couple of weeks to keep battery charged? After the long Winter, on the first nice early March day, fire it up, let it get warmed up so it is really running nice, back it...

    The movie "America"

I have had to give up on my nieces and nephews because of how they have been indoctrinated by their college professors, the last 10 years. I hope they someday get a clue about the lies they have been fed before it is too late for this country. I did notice my own son and daughter were not...

    Can't feel any boost

I certainly feel it on my '88. I have the old style Corbin seat, and being 260 lbs, it tries to put me up over the seat lip when it kicks in. Of course, I catch a lot of wind even though I have a small windshield on.

    how active is this forum

Everytime I have had a problem or question, I have received lots of help from a lot smarter guys than I on this site. I'm no mechanic, and sometimes they have been helpful in nudging me to tackle the problem myself with their guidance. Great bunch.

Starter Clutch, I believe it's done

Guys, I think you've talked me into trying it with my old racer/friend's help. If I get frustrated , I can bail on him if I do it at his shop. I don't have a good place to tear down at my house. A funny story on him. He worked part time for a while in our Deere shop, and one day while...

Starter Clutch, I believe it's done

Thanks for the encouragement to at least starting the job myself. I'm trying to work up the courage. I have another riding friend who I am pretty sure would help me pull the flywheel and would have the tools. He is semi-retired and works on boat motors and motorcycles to keep busy. He is an...

Starter Clutch, I believe it's done

I had been hearing some noises when starting my "88 Vmax for the last year, that I didn't like the sound of. I had asked my dealer mechanic if he thought it needed work when he installed new tires last Fall, and he said that was pretty much normal and to keep riding. Last evening, I tried...

"Vera Vmax" is named for my Mother in Law......She was pretty hot in her early years, but time has not been kind to her either.

    V MAX virgin

About a month ago, I took my Vmax to the bike shop to have new tires installed, and told the tech, a Vmax owner himself, that I had recently synched the carbs, but I had one carb I just couldn't get quite right. But after some Sea Foam, it was starting and idling smooth, but just didn't seem...

"Heavy, floppy, low speed steering" ?

I think you were right, mivmx, with a few more miles, it seems to be handling better, smoother steering. It still has a little tendancy to "turn in" on a curve , but it is getting better after 100 miles.

Steering head bearing condition and its consequences

Lots of good information here...just what I was looking for. Thanks for sharing the info. I think the recent adjustment may need some miles for the bearings to settle in and hopefully will get better.

"Heavy, floppy, low speed steering" ?

I was without my "88 Vmax for over 2 months as she had some electrical problems I finally had to put her in Motorcycle Hospital for a while and let an expert figure out. Among other things I had checked out while there was a sometimes head shake when braking at about 30 MPH. The tech...

    moisture= no spark, any ideas?

The wife has not done too bad yet...says I should have took it to the dealership in May instead of trying to fix it myself...she knows my repair record is not good. She hasn't forgot the new living room furniture bought in May either...I keep saying, "how's that new chair feel, hon?" or "Boy...
