    drag bars

I immediately installed a set of drag bars on Max within a week after I got him. I have had drag bars on almost all the 15 bikes I have owned. It feels better to my wrists. I got the bars from Python Motorsports and used the barsnake with great results. The Python bars are the right I.D. and...

If you are shifting at redline and the oil light doesn't come on, you have a bigger problem, a lack of the legendary Vmax power.

The Vmax seat thread! The all seat thread!

Re: VMAX Seats I have had a UFO Starfighter seat for 3 years and it still looks brand new....and it has always felt great. The lowering job is impeccable and after a 200 mile ride, with a few fuel stops thrown in, my butt still didn't hurt. J J

    Good Toolbox liner.

All my toolbox drawers are lined with old school Rubbermaid dish drainers. They have small suction cups on the bottom to keep them solidly in place, can be trimmed to fit any drawer and have a non-slick top surface so my tools don't slide around. They are easy to remove and clean, as well.

I've only ever seen one other Max in town...

We have 3 Gen1's and 1 Gen2 running around in the small town of Florence, SC and one of the Gen 1's is mine and the Gen2 belongs to the owner of the local Dealership.

    Great Vendors

:punk:I have dealt with a lot of vendors over the last few years on the VMAX and the VSTAR 1100. Exactrep in the UK has excellent product lines, even if it does take a little longer for the items to arrive. Jon Cornel from UFO has pulled my but out of the fire with his technical knowledge a few...

    Yamaha-Kawasaki of Florence, SC

:clapping:These guys are the greatest! All of their mechanics are certified by Yamaha and most of them are racers, as well. The owner, Donnie Miller is the owner and his dad had the first Kawasaki dealership in SC, when it opened in Darlington, SC. It is a family owned and operated business...

    Very Good Engine Cleaning/shining Procedure

I have always used plain old armour all on all my bikes. It makes the engine color return and dust and dirt won't adhere to it, hence a feather duster can be used for a quick wipe down before a ride.

    Clutch problems??

My '93 max had the same type problem. One day it was great, the very next day, the clutch would not disengage. I checked the master cylinder and it was for all intensive purposes, empty. I saw no trace of leakage anywhere, i.e. sight glass, joints from top to bottom. I refilled the master and...

    VBoost problems

I have a 1993 VMax with a TBoost installation. I have had the bike since 2005. The VBoost has been working perfectly all this time. Even after I installed the TBoost, 4 years ago, everything worked as it should, 3K, 6K, off. The first time I noticed any problem was 2 weeks ago. I went out for a...
